Progess is being made...it's just not apparent yet

Front of the house, roof tiles on - it has changed a bit since these were taken

Although, it's been quite some time, things have been progressing with the house. What's been going on for the last 4 months? Things like HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc. The front door went in, and it's beautiful, but I don't have any pictures. At this point that house is set to have insulation, and then drywall within the next 2 weeks. The house will be done and lived in no later than February 2009 - no matter what! We (the Chavez crew) will come every weekend, and do what it takes to be sure that happens!!!

More pictures and updates will be coming, soon we'll be into the fun stuff!

Things are moving along Part II

Here are the pictures that were supposed to go with the previous post. These pictures were taken July 5th. Brian braved climbing up the ladder to take a good look at Ryan's room. He said you can see for miles from the dormer window that faces north. The really fun stuff will start happening soon, we'll keep you posted.

Things are moving along

Casa De Vialpando is moving along nicely. Trusses are completely up, and we (the Chavez family) took our tour last weekend, we all put dibs on our bedrooms, and talked about how much fun it's going to be to spend weekends in that big 'ol house.

Next Phase - Trusses - June 2008

The trusses are up, and next week the roof will be sheeted. Soon, the entire house will be enclosed. Ryan's room is a whopping 700 square feet, and stairs to his room should be finished this week. The Chavez family will be up this weekend to see the progress and we are very excited!

Framing Goes Up

This is a huge milestone, and framing is the most obvious phase of the project thus far. It's exciting to see Casa de Vialpando, blossoming into a home...trusses are up next!

The framing was complete on May 25th, Ryan's Birthday - I'm sure he's looking down on us, and is very proud of the progress, as are we.

Sub-flooring & Garage Floor

Casa de Vialpando is taking shape, a garage floor and sub flooring has gone in, and the next apparent phase is framing. There are other steps to building a home that are going on, but we'd rather not bore you with all the details, only the obvious and fun ones.

The Foundation Pour

After many long days of dirt work, this is what it all comes down to, the foundation pour - maybe the most important part of the job, certainly a huge milestone of the project.

Dirt Work February 2008

Dirt work is hard and dirty work, but it's the beginning of something spectacular...Casa de Vialpando. Estimated time of completion - Fall 2008

Even the President/CEO gets dirty

We all enjoyed lunch together at the Club House, normally the guys would just eat a sandwich at the job site, but since all of us girls were there we met up with them for lunch, this ordinary day turned into a day we'd treasure forever.
